A Message from the Chair

We are on a Courageous mission.

At First Choice for Women, we are continually looking for ways to improve and expand our services.  With that in mind, we ask that you join us in praying for the provision of our many needs, including volunteers, material support, and financial contributions.

We are proud that we can provide parenting classes to young parents, so they are not left on their own once they choose life for their child. We are excited that we can mentor those parents until their child is 3 and ½ years old!

As hours expand and services grow in the Centers, we need more volunteers - not only within the Centers, but in the Churches also.

Why?

Because we need to reach the women and men who are facing unplanned pregnancies in our community, and the statistics below indicate, that many can be found in our very own churches.

  • 70% of women who have had abortions identify themselves as Christians.*

  • 4 in 10 women who have had abortions were regularly attending church at the time.*

  • According to our affiliate organization, Care Net, 91% of people responding to their study indicated that they wanted more information from their pastor on abortion and topics related to the beginning of life, right to life, contraception, adoption, and unwed mothers.

These young people often have no support prior to coming to First Choice.  However, if they knew ahead of time that their church would support and love them during this difficult time, they would be more likely to cling to that support and make a life-affirming decision.

We have both a challenge and an opportunity set before us today.  If a woman in your church was facing an unplanned pregnancy, is there someone she can turn to for support?  It is a question we cannot afford to ignore. So let’s be courageous in our efforts to serve and support these young women!

Life Ambassadors

First Choice for Women is actively recruiting Life Ambassadors for churches. These individuals have a passion for the pro-life ministry and are willing to be a representative for First Choice in their home church. They advocate, not only for expectant mothers and fathers, but also for the ministry itself. It is a critically important role and there is a great need for the transformative power of Jesus Christ to be available to these women and men.

God is the author and sustainer of life. He beautifully illustrates this in Psalm 139:13-16 “for you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.  Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book, before one of them came to be.”

Lord, grant us Your supernatural and transformative power to continue to embrace grace and address this sensitive subject in a way that builds life abundantly!  Your word promises that love conquers fear.  We pray that Your love will conquer our fears, as well as the fears of the parents of unborn babies. Let love and forgiveness be the cornerstone of all that we do, for we do it in Jesus name.  Amen.
